Valencia, Spain: Paella + Chorizo del Infierno + Agua

After I tried Paella, my life was never the same. A rice based dish with many variations from all seafood, to all meat to a mix of both and many more. Valencia is where Paella originates and Valencian Style Paella has rabbit, chicken and vegetables. This is a must try when in Valencia. Great to share with large groups and if prepared correctly, a delicious meal.

If I had to pick 2 favorite Spanish foods, first would be Paella and second would be Chorizo. Coincidentally, the same restaurant had the best of both that I’ve ever had. These were a bit spicy, but if spicy is your thing, then these were incredible as a tapa. Well prepared, outstanding flavor and dipping the bread in the leftover sauce is decadent. A fantastic way to start any lunch or dinner.

Although some mixed drinks may lack strength, the “Agua de Valencia” should never be taken lightly. Made with orange juice, cava (or champagne), gin, vodka and sugar, this drink packs a real kick. This drink is served with ice as well and can be drank at any time of the day, especially in the morning or early afternoon. Absolutely recommend trying to make this at home as well.
